Emma Rice
Child & Adolescent Psychologist
BA(Psych), GradDipPsych(Adv), MProfPsych.
Emma works collaboratively with individuals and families to support and empower them in ways that feel meaningful and achievable. She has experience working across a range of settings and currently teaches in the Master of Professional Psychology program at Monash University. Emma is also a Board-approved supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Emma aims to create a space where people feel safe, understood, and supported. She approaches the challenges individuals and families may be experiencing with curiosity and care, working together to find practical and approachable ways forward. Her work focuses on normalising common struggles, identifying and building on personal strengths, and developing skills that support wellbeing beyond therapy sessions.
Emma tailors therapy to each person’s individual needs, drawing on evidence-based approaches while incorporating trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, synergetic play therapy, and body-aware perspectives into her work.
Some of the approaches Emma uses include:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Schema Therapy
Gottman Couples Therapy
Mindfulness practices
Motivational Interviewing
Outside of work, Emma loves spending time with family and friends, exploring nature, starting new creative projects, and lifting heavy things at the gym!
