Jesse Diggins
Educational and Developmental Psychologist
Jesse Diggins founded Strength Psychology to help families, children and adolescents to navigate emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges. With a warm, strengths-based approach, Jesse works closely with parents to decode their child’s behaviours, understand their unique needs, and develop practical strategies to support them in everyday life.
After completing a Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University in 2016, Jesse gained extensive experience in both private practice and educational settings. His background includes working as the Educational Psychologist at MacKillop Education’s Geelong Campus, where he collaborated with staff and students to implement trauma-informed practices and co-develop, research and evaluate the ReLATE model.
Jesse’s work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He believes in empowering families by fostering connection and understanding, often using creative methods to help children express themselves and communicate with their parents.
Jesse also works closely with schools to address the growing mental health needs of students. As the founder of Psychs in Schools, he created a program that connects schools with provisional psychologists, offering much-needed mental health support while creating training opportunities for emerging professionals. The company expanded to work with more than 100 schools across Victoria, servicing thousands of school students each year.
Jesse has established Strength Psychology as the clinic families in our community trust to provide reliable, effective and compassionate support during challenging times.
